We have built our lodge for comfort. However, the biggest area we work on is Big Buck Production. We scout our properties with game cameras continuously.
We strategically place our stands at key travel routes, food sources, different wind directions, and try to enter areas without disturbing the wildlife.
Myth vs. Truth
Myth: You have to spend a lot of money for a lodge in a great area in order to have a chance to kill a monster buck (150-200 class).
Truth: Our affordable cost for our outstanding properties will definitely change your mind.
Myth: In the cornbelt region of Pike County, Illinois, bucks are behind every tree.
Truth: Sorry, hunting is exactly that – Hunting. But we do have plenty of monster bucks on our properties, and we’ll do our best to see that you harvest one.
Facts
Big bucks rarely come out in daylight and spend most of their lives in bedding zones. You have to hunt them to kill them. You have to have the food sources, stands set up in the right area with proper wind direction, and know your bedding areas and travel routes in order to see and kill the big ones.
We have multiple stands (ladders, lockons, shooting houses, ground blinds) in great areas. We also move them around on a regular basis to avoid them being spotted on a previous hunt. When a hunter is spotted, deer will avoid that area of look in that stand for a hunter next time they come through, decreasing the odds of a kill. We do not want the new hunters to pay for the previous hunter’s mistake.
